We’re writing to share an important update regarding fuel card security that will directly impact all Koch Fuel customers who use Petro‑Canada cards.
Due to widespread fuel card fraud across the industry, Petro‑Canada has mandated new security requirements for all customers. While this is a significant change, it is mandatory and necessary to protect your account, your drivers, and the fuel network as a whole.
Starting June 2, 2026, Petro‑Canada will require a One‑Time Passcode (OTP) for all Petro‑Pass transactions.
Transactions without OTP will not be approved. Retail purchases and Diesel Exhaust Fluid products will not be on the One Time Password program, this will continue to remain a static pin until changes to the program that will be coming later this year.
OTP must be used in order to purchase fuel. Four digit static pins will no longer work for fuel purchases.
OTP provides a unique, one‑time authorization code at the time of fueling to help prevent unauthorized use and fraud.
We recognize this will require adjustment and driver training. We genuinely apologize for the inconvenience, but this change is not optional and applies to all PetroCanada customers nationwide.
To transition your cards to OTP, please provide updated driver information.

Once One Time Password is activated, you will receive a text message to the phone number provided. You MUST reply “Yes” to the text message within 24 Hours.
Please begin preparing and onboarding drivers as soon as possible to ensure uninterrupted fueling.
